Online Drivers Education Course Reviews by State

Online drivers education classes are becoming extremely popular. And why not? They're quick, low cost, and actually more effective than traditional classroom based drivers ed programs. New drivers tend to retain information much better when it's online because the courses are interactive and tend to keep the attention of the student driver. Classrooms are boring! Not to mention when you do it online, you can take the course at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.

Choosing the best online drivers education course

If you go to a search engine and type in "drivers ed online" or something similar, you'll literally get millions of results (I get 3.7 million to be exact). That's a bit overwhelming, dontcha think?

I decided to create a section on this site to help you narrow your search down a bit. Since I run this site by myself, I can't possibly review every online driving school. Since most of them are garbage anyway, I only review the large and well established drivers ed programs. You really don't want to take a course by a little start-up company anyway. Just stick with the big dogs.

How my driver ed reviews are performed

Well, first of all, I put a lot of research into this. I make sure the training program has been around for a while and are certified in most states. Then, I actually take the course myself. And finally, I tell you what I thought about it!

All of the schools I list are legitimate online driving schools

While I have my preferences, none of the schools here will rip you off or anything like that. I don't even bother reviewing the scam / low budget sites. Usually they spring up and are gone fairly quickly, before they spring up under a new name. So I don't even bother with them. I promise, if you sign up for any of the schools I've listed, you'll be ok. Sign up for something else and I have no guarantees!

Are these reviews biased?

Actually, they kind of are! For example, I really like the iDriveSafely teen driver program. It's hands down my favorite online drivers education course. So while I do my best to keep my reviews unbiased, I will always let you know who my personal favorites are.

Be safe and pick from the list

It's unfortunate, but there are a ton of really low budget online drivers education programs. There's no possible way for you as an individual to know which courses are great, and which ones aren't (that's why you're here researching, right?). To be safe, just choose from the list I give you (depending on your state). All of the schools I recommend have a minimum of an A rating from the Better Business Bureau (here's the iDriveSafely A+ rating - for example). If you choose from my list, you can't go wrong. Period.

Remember: Drivers education can be boring!

When I recommend an online driving school, I'm not saying it's always going to be the most fun thing in the world. While these driver ed programs do a pretty good job with making it interactive including videos, animations, etc., it's not going to always be fun. But hey, it's better than going to a boring classroom, right?

Well, let's get started!
