Whether you got a traffic ticket, have too many driving points, or you just want to reduce your insurance rates, this list of the top 6 fastest online traffic schools was designed for you. Hey, somebody has to watch out for all you traffic law criminals out there!
I understand, you might be wondering, who the hell is this guy on a random blog to give me advice about the best and fastest online traffic schools? Well, I’m a certified driving instructor and creator of various online driver training programs. Basically, I’m kind of “in the industry” and I’ve been reviewing online traffic schools for years. If anyone is an expert in online traffic schools, I’m it (yes, my parents are very proud).
Now, the biggest enemy you have when taking an online traffic school is the pesky course timer. If you live in the state of California, none of the below courses have a course timer! Several years ago, the state of California decided to cut people a break and they now allow you to blast through the course as quick as you can. No timers in the course. If you take your online traffic school course seriously, it can still take hours. But, if you just blast through it, we’re talkin’ about 30 to 45 minutes tops. Just sign up for any course on my top 6 fastest online traffic schools list and you’ll be good to go.
For the rest of you, the below courses all use the state-mandated minimums. Yes, there may be a timer involved meaning you can only go through the course at a certain pace. However, I’ve noticed a TV or separate tab with YouTube open for some video surfing helps to make it more bearable. Regardless, these below 6 online traffic schools are the fastest online traffic schools you’ll find.
Aceable is a newer online traffic school, so I just added them to this list recently. However, I never listed them near the top because while Aceable is probably the best online traffic school you can take in terms of quality, it wasn’t always the fastest. Fortunately, Aceable made some changes to their course and they now meet the state minimum requirements. If you’re lucky enough to live in a state like California, there aren’t even any course timers. Aceable is also faster for one very distinct reason – everything actually works! Many of the older online traffic schools are getting outdated and have issues with things like device compatibility, load times, identity authentication systems, etc. If you have any problems with any of those things, your traffic school is going to take longer than anticipated with a possible call into customer service. Well, Aceable was built from the ground up just a couple years ago and they received MILLIONS of dollars to build the course, so as one would expect, it operates flawlessly.
Keep in mind that Aceable delivers their content through both text as well as video. While watching the videos would certainly be responsible of you, the videos will end up slowing you down in the long-run. In most states, the videos are optional to watch, so just keep that in mind. This is also the best online traffic school if you plan on using a mobile device. Aceable has an app you can download and it works really well. Most online traffic schools only have “mobile-friendly” versions of their course but they don’t have an app. Being able to take the course through an app makes it function and load much faster.
The iDriveSafely online traffic school program has been around for literally decades and they have it down to a science. This is the fastest online traffic school you can take and it has made this list every year including now in 2019. Plus, I’ve got a coupon code you can use, so it will also be one of the cheapest online traffic schools as well. Just make sure you DO NOT upgrade to their video-based course (you’ll be asked to upgrade a couple of times). The simple text-based course is way faster. With over 5 million “graduates” at this point, they’ve gotta be doing something right.
iDriveSafely is mobile-friendly, but they do not have a dedicated app for their online traffic school. I mostly recommend this course if you prefer a more text-heavy course. While watching videos can help to break things up and feels more modern, a surprising number of people don’t want to mess with videos and just want plain text with some pictures thrown in. This is a great course for states that require timers on each page. You can just sit there and watch Netflix until the timer ends, then go to the next page and do it all over again. With no videos to watch, you won’t have to disrupt your Netflix watching until a quiz comes up. iDriveSafely should definitely be a consideration.
I listed Improv Traffic School as #3 even though it’s probably my personal favorite online traffic school of them all. Improv Traffic School was created by a bunch of comedians in Hollywood as a way to make traffic school a bit less boring. If you’re familiar with the Improv Comedy Club chain, you’ll know who’s behind this traffic school. I’m happy to report that their comedic style approach worked! Of course, not everyone has the same sense of humor that I have. Check out this video that Improv Traffic School made below. If you think it’s funny, this could be the course for you. If not, you have several other options available.
If you’re unfortunate enough to live in a state that requires course timers to be used, this online traffic school includes hilarious videos, cartoons, games, and other crap to help pass the time. I’m a sucker for humor, but I’m also easy to please. If you’re not into slapstick comedy, you should probably go with another course. If you live in a state that does not require course timers to be used, the games and videos are optional, so feel free to watch them if you find them entertaining, otherwise you can just skip ahead.
Improv Traffic School does not have a mobile app, but they are mobile friendly by using your phones web browser. I personally found the quizzes adn final exam at Improv Traffic School to be among the easiest as well. Most online traffic schools are pretty easy, but Improv Traffic School seemed to be the easiest of all. Failing a quiz is no big deal as you can retake them, but retaking quizzes costs you time. Therefor, Improv Traffic School could save you time simply because their quizzes are so easy.
GoToTrafficSchool has been around forever. If you use this link, they will guarantee you the lowest possible price. If you find any lower price out there, they will match it or beat it. Simple as that. So not only are you getting the fastest online traffic school, you’re getting the guaranteed cheapest.
Traditionally, I haven’t rated Go To Traffic School very highly because it was getting pretty outdated. However, they have made some huge improvements to the course in the past couple of years. Go To Traffic School just created new interactive videos, mobile-friendly versions, updated their text, and created an entirely new user platform. For the most part, this is a brand new course and a great option to consider especially when considering the lowest price guarantee.
The Traffic101 Online Traffic School is a bit unique. It is the simplest and most straight forward online traffic school I’ve found. No fancy videos, no games, no cartoons and no added garbage you don’t care about. Think of this as an e-book. Fortunately, this format makes it really simple to use and allows you to just speed through it as fast as possible. If you’re actually taking the course to learn a thing or two, you might want to go with something more interactive. Otherwise, you can use this 10% discount and get it over with pretty quickly.
One major issue with Traffic101 is that this course is not very mobile friendly. I only recommend this course for those planning on using a laptop or PC. While it does work on mobile devices, it doesn’t work very well at all. Other aspects of this course make it feel pretty outdated, but again, if you’re just going for the most basic course possible, this is it. This is also a good option for those of you with slow internet connections. If you live in a rural area and rely on satellite or other slow internet speeds, this could be a good option for you.
The DriversEd.com online traffic school looks a lot like, well, drivers ed! That’s because this company mostly provides online drivers ed services, but they modified their courses to also include traffic school. In states that don’t require a course timer, you won’t find one. For other states, they only require the absolute minimum amount of time. The “exams” are easy and they’ve been around for almost 2 decades, so they are reputable, too. As with the other courses listed, they also have a discount link you can use.
DriversEd.com has a little bit different of a feel than the other courses on this list. Since they started as a drivers ed company, this course feels a bit more geared towards teens and young drivers. If you are under the age of 20, you may want to give stronger consideration to DriversEd.com. However, plenty of older adults take this course as well.
I actually had some trouble coming up with a 6th school, but everybody either does top 5 or top 10 lists and I wanted to be different. So, Traffic School To Go sort of got my “shoe in” addition. This is a lot like the Go To Traffic School course listed above. It’s guaranteed to be the cheapest and if you find one for cheaper, they will match or beat the price. Plus, you can blast through this course really fast.
Traffic School To Go is another online traffic school that has seen some big upgrades over the past couple of years, but there are still parts of the course that feel pretty outdated with old pictures, old videos, old stats, etc. If you can get past that, this is also a very easy online traffic school that is fast to get through.
