After paying a hefty traffic ticket, the idea of taking a free online traffic school seems appealing. While I can assure you there are many places that have online traffic school discount codes, I am not aware of any free online traffic school that isn’t a total scam. Before ever signing up for an online traffic school, you should always make sure they are state certified first. If they aren’t specifically certified in your state, then you are being ripped off.
What Is The Cheapest Online Traffic School?
Since you can’t sign up for a legitimate free online traffic school, you are probably interested in going with the cheapest. These traffic schools seem to change their pricing all the time, so it’s hard to give you a concrete answer. What I’d recommend you do instead is compare the pricing for the below 3 traffic schools.
All three of the below schools have been around for over 10 years and have had millions of people go through their courses. I set up each link to open in a new tab, so just click on each of them, find the lowest price traffic school on the list, and you’ll sign up for a good course with 24/7/365 customer support and a good reputation for the lowest price. Here ya go:
- iDriveSafely. This is a good choice price-wise as they offer one of the most affordable online traffic school courses. Affordable in the sense that they are not too cheap, but not expensive either. It has been around for over a decade, has served millions of students already, and has an A+ BBB rating. Rest assured this school is one of those reputable course providers.
- MyImprov.com. I recommend this school because besides offering their course at a reasonable price, I just love their “edutainment” approach in teaching. Their course is really fun and engaging. Their partnership with the Improv Comedy Club ensures everyone who takes their course will have a good laugh while learning about road safety. They also give 4 FREE tickets to the Improv Comedy Club if you finish their course!
- GoToTrafficSchool.com. I’d say this school provides the cheapest course out of all the online schools you can find in your state. Why? Because they have this offer wherein if you find a cheaper course in your state, they match their offer price with that. This makes their courses always the cheapest around. But if you are concerned about not having quality education because of its cheap price, don’t worry. It also has an A+ BBB rating and the school has been serving more than 4 million drivers since it was established in 2000.
What About Other Online Courses? Could They Be Cheaper?
Yeah, actually, that’s possible. The reason I recommend the top 3 is because online traffic schools are notoriously bad about providing really awful customer service. I really do think many of these supposed American-based traffic schools are actually run out of other countries. If you have a problem, good luck. You’re probably better off just cutting your losses and signing up for another course.
With the above 3 courses, I can personally vouch for them. I’ve done as much research as possible and those three schools are going to be the lowest price while making sure you’re not going to get stranded should there be any technical issues – which seems to happen often at a lot of these schools.
Aren’t Traffic School Prices Regulated By The State?
That depends on where you live and it’s very possible. In some states, it’s impossible to find a free online traffic school simply due to state requirements. States will sometimes regulate pricing and set a minimum amount traffic schools can charge (you won’t find online traffic schools shedding a tear about that). In other states, however, traffic schools can set their own pricing. If a price war is in effect, that could mean some excellent savings for you!
Are There Any Free Classroom Based Traffic Schools?
I’m afraid not. If you know of one, please leave a comment below, but as far as I know, there aren’t any that exist. In fact, classroom-based traffic schools are getting much more difficult to find. Taking the course online is way easier and way cheaper for everyone involved, so taking traffic school online is probably your best bet.
How Long Will This Take Me?
Again, that depends on where exactly you live. If you live in a state like California, you can be done in under an hour. If you live in a state like Texas, however, you’ll be at the computer for about 6 or 7 hours. The reason there is such a difference is that some states require course timers to be used. When they do that, you are unable to progress to the next page until a timer reaches zero (yes, it’s as annoying as it sounds). Here’s a little tip to help speed things up… Take a screenshot of each page. That way, when you’re taking the tests and quizzes, you can just go back to your screenshots and get the correct answers.
Can I Get a Money-Back Guarantee?
This will depend entirely on the course provider you’re taking online courses from. But yes, most reputable online traffic schools have a money-back guarantee. They are usually confident about their materials so there is no reason why they would hesitate to give you a money-back guarantee. The arrangement differs though as some schools allow you to get a refund as long as you have not completed the final exam, while other schools allow a refund if you make a request before your completion certificate is delivered. Make sure to check with your school first before signing up – they usually provide this information on their FAQs page.
