Guide to Online Driving Schools

Online driving schools have sprung up all over the internet. I'll go through some of the different driving courses offered on the web, and since a lot of "fly by night" poor quality (and sometimes non-certified) online traffic schools exist, I'll give my recommended schools for each.

Defensive Driving and Traffic Schools Online

Mountains

What's that? You got a traffic ticket? What do you mean it wasn't your fault?! That's not what the ticket says!

Ok, calm down, I'll stop yelling at you. Truth is, you're not alone. Over 25-Million drivers receive traffic tickets in the United States each year. That's a lot of Million! Luckily, most of these drivers have a way out. Instead of paying for the traffic citation, paying the added car insurance premiums, hiring a traffic lawyer, dealing with the hassles of traffic court, etc., they can simply go to a certified defensive driving class or use one of the many online driving schools and the ticket will be forgotten. That's some good news for you!

The good news doesn't stop there. See, getting a traffic ticket is a good thing! Ok, I'm pushing it. But keep reading anyway...

Many states now allow you to take your defensive driving course online. Back in the day, you'd have to waste a Saturday sitting at your local community college. And for what? To be told in 100 different ways for 5hrs that you need to slow down and stop tailgating? Boring!

How do you choose an online school? That part is easy. I've already researched for you! Feel free to look around on Google for a good online driving school, but I'm telling you that hands down this is the best school. Not only are they the most widely used online driving school in the country, and not only have they been around the longest, but it's cheap, you can stop and re-start the course whenever you'd like, it's actually kinda fun (no, really!), and it has a money back guarantee. There, I just saved you some time and research. Check em' out!

Insurance Reduction Driving Courses Online

Tunnel

Did you know that in many states, insurance companies must reduce your insurance premiums by law if you complete a certified defensive driving class? Sometimes the discount is more than 15%. Now that's pretty cool! Most of these courses are really cheap (like 15 to 20 bucks kinda cheap) and don't take up much of your time. In return, you get lower insurance costs for years. To top it off, you can't fail. Everyone passes. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Don't waste time at some insurance company seminar or community college course that's just going to make you fall asleep, do it online! I think this program is the best one. The course is interactive to help you actually learn a thing or two, plus you can pause the program and come back whenever you want. You have 180 days after starting the course to finish it.

Be careful. A lot of "fly by night" companies have started their own driving classes online. Some of them are legitimate, but the course is boring and poorly put together. Feel free to search around on Google for a school that makes you comfortable. But I can totally vouch for idrivesafely.com (PSST! If you click that link, you get a discount on your course).

Online Drivers Education Courses

You don't have your drivers license yet? What are you waiting for!? Driving is awesome! Be prepared for freedom like you've never had before.

Isn't it interesting that you need to take a drivers education class, but have no way of getting there? What's a driving student to do? Simple! Do the book work from home!

Online drivers education programs are getting really, really good. Instead of having a teacher talk at you, these online courses are interactive with games, mini-quizzes, animations, and other things to keep your attention. Getting your license is a big deal and there's a lot to learn at first. What better way to keep your attention than an online, interactive course?

Mom and Dad might be reluctant to use an online course for you. After all, learning how to drive is kind of a "hands on" thing. But that's why these online companies work with local schools to take care of the "behind the wheel" aspect. All you're doing online is learning the basics and obtaining your drivers permit. It saves time, money, and is more effective to do this online.

So what online driving schools do I recommend? Obviously, do your own research. But I highly recommend these guys. They were the first ones to start online drivers education. They've been around for a while and have really learned what works and what doesn't. Plus they guarantee that you'll pass your exam. Feel free to look around at other companies out there, but I'm just sayin'.
