So you got a traffic ticket (shame on you), and now you're looking for a driving school online to get it dismissed? You've come to the right place! You don't have to sit through a boring course at your local community college anymore. You can take a ticket dismissal class online in the comfort of your own home. Yeah, I think that's pretty cool, too.

All you want to do is get your ticket dismissed, but you are the target of scams! First, let me explain how online driving school scams work...

Typical scams

Lots and lots of ticket dismissal classes exist through various driving school online courses. Some of them are flat out scams that will take your money and run. They aren't even approved by states as an acceptable course. Those are few and far between and isn't your main concern.

The problem is, many traffic schools on the internet aren't actually traffic schools. Nope, they just appear to be! In reality, they are simply resellers of online traffic schools. So, you end up signing up for a course that is run by a totally sperate company!

Why is this bad for you?

There are a lot of reasons signing up through a third party site is a bad idea. But I'll give you the major reasons.

First, you may end up paying more for the course than you have to. These third party sites are trying to make money. So, they will charge a premium. What they do is purchase 'rights' to use the third party course, pay for that course, than resell it to you for a profit. Everybody wins! Oh, except for you... The sucker who paid more than necessary.

As if that's not bad enough, since you signed up through a third party site, you might not be eligible for the guarantees, refund policies, and payment security that everyone else taking the course is getting.

A third party is false advertising!

Finally, you "technically" didn't sign up through a certified driving school online. You signed up through a third party site. They, in turn, enroll you in a course that technically isn't theirs. They just make it look like it is. Deceitful? Oh yeah.

So in the end, you're really not signing up for a certified course. You're signing up for a website that just uses a course from a certified provider. Did I lose you? Doesn't matter. Just know that it isn't good.

How to avoid this driving school scam!

In short, don't sign up for these third party courses. But how do you know who is legit and who is a third party?
